Resident Quranic Arabic Instructor
Sadiq Patel is currently a Ph.D. student in the School of Social Service Administration at the University of Chicago. His area of focus is positive adolescent development and designing culturally and spiritually informed psychological programs. Sadiq obtained his Master of Social Work at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. His area of focus was psycho-therapy and social identity. Sadiq also taught social psychology courses to undergraduates, exploring how race, gender, socio-economic status, and religious involvement impacts individual experiences.
Sadiq began his Arabic studies in 2011 at Bayyinah Institute's 10-month DREAM Program and continued his studies abroad in Cairo, Egypt where he obtained proficiency in Arabic, Tajwid, Quranic Studies, and other Islamic sciences.
Ustadh Sadiq is a former educator in Miami-Dade County Public Schools through Teach for America, psychotherapist at American Indian Health & Family Services in Detroit, MI, and Management Consultant at Accenture.
