Ustadh Fahim Qazi earned his AS degree in Mathematics and Physical Science from American River College, Sacramento, California. He worked as Software Engineer in the Silicon Valley for five years. Since then Ustadh Fahim has dedicated himself to studying and teaching the Islamic Sciences. Focusing on Arabic grammar during his studies in Damascus, Ustadh Fahim is currently in the process of compiling a book in Arabic grammar.
From 1997 to 2002, Ustadh Fahim took courses offered at Zaytuna Institute (California) taught by Shaykh Hamza Yusuf and distinguished visiting Mauritanian scholars, Abdullah bin Bayyah, Shaykh Khatry, and Shaykh Abdullah Ould Ahmadna, in traditional Islamic sciences such as Aqeeda (Islamic Creed based on logic), Maliki Fiqh (Maliki School interpretation of Sharia), Usul al Fiqh (Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence) , Hadeeth (Prophetic Tradition) terminology, Tasawuf (Islamic Psychology & Spirituality), Seera (biography of the Prophet صلّى الله عليه و سلّم ) and Arabic Grammar. Since then he's dedicated himself to traditional Islamic education.
In 2002, he moved to Damascus to pursue higher studies in Arabic and Islamic Sciences. He studied Aqeeda and Hanafi Fiqh with Shaykh Abdus Salam Shannar. He studied Tasawwuf, and other Islamic sciences with Shaykh Abu al Huda al-Yaqubi. He studied Arabic Grammar with Ustadh Amienoellah Abderoef, Ustadh Ibrahim al-Miqdad, Dr. Ayman Ash-Shawa, Dr. Muhammad Ali Hamadallah and others. He has ijaza (teaching license) in Arabic grammar.
Ustadh Fahim currently resides in Damascus with his wife and children.
